Brave Services

  • At Brave, our comprehensive psychological and clinical evaluations go beyond standard assessments, covering ASD, IQ, ADHD, learning differences, Selective Mutism, OCD, phobias, and other anxiety diagnoses. Our innovative collaborative care model integrates evaluators and clinicians from day one. By combining interviews, standardized testing, direct observation, and ongoing clinical insights, we create a complete picture of your child's unique needs, challenges, and strengths, resulting in accurate, immediately actionable recommendations connected to real support.

  • Brave clinicians understand every child is unique, so treatment is personalized based on their specific needs, strengths, and environment. We use research-proven therapies but extend beyond the session, collaborating with you, the school, and your child's support team. This ensures progress translates to real-life success at home, school, and everywhere else—because real therapy isn't just about feeling better in session, it's about thriving everywhere.

  • Group therapy at Brave is a dynamic, research-backed way for children to heal and grow with peers who truly understand. We match children with others who share similar challenges and goals, allowing them to practice real-life skills together. This peer connection is vital: children not only learn skills but build the confidence to use them everywhere. Research confirms that practicing with similar peers leads to faster, lasting progress.

  • Intensive exposure therapy for children is a therapeutic approach designed to help young individuals confront and gradually reduce their anxiety and fears in a safe and supportive environment. This therapy involves structured, repeated exposure to specific feared situations or stimuli, allowing children to learn coping strategies and build resilience.

Sessions are tailored to the child’s specific needs and can include a variety of techniques, such as role-playing, guided imagery, and real-world exposure tasks. Brave's clinical team works closely with the child and their family, ensuring that the pace of exposure is appropriate and that positive reinforcement is provided throughout the process.

The goal of intensive exposure therapy is to empower children to face their fears, enhance their emotional regulation skills, and ultimately improve their overall well-being. This approach is the gold standard for treatment of selective mutism, phobias, OCD, and related anxiety disorders. Brave clinicians are passionate about helping children regain confidence and engage more fully in everyday life.

Sessions can vary in length and recommendations will be made upon completion of your child's intake assessment. Our clinicians offer multi-hour and multi-day individualized treatment within our clinic and community settings.

  • Brave Camp is a transformative program designed to support young individuals facing social anxiety and selective mutism in an "in-vivo, in situ" therapeutic setting. This immersive camp experience combines treatment techniques with fun, engaging activities, enabling children to confront their fears in a safe and supportive environment.

Throughout the camp, trained camp counselors guide participants through structured exposure exercises tailored to their individual needs. Each day is carefully planned to gradually introduce children to their fears while promoting camaraderie and resilience among peers.

In addition to exposure activities, the camp emphasizes skill-building through workshops on coping strategies, mindfulness, and emotional regulation. Children learn to express their feelings and support one another, fostering a sense of community and understanding.

Parents are kept informed through regular updates and are encouraged to participate in workshops, enhancing their ability to support their child's journey. The camp culminates in a celebration where children showcase their achievements, reinforcing their newfound confidence and skills.

Brave Explorers Camp is a unique opportunity for children to face their fears, build lasting friendships, and learn practical tools to manage anxiety in their daily lives.
